He directed and wrote films such as Dead Silence (1989), Gorgasm (1990), Gorotica (1993), and Gore Whore (1994). Gallagher's films are characterized by their low-budget production and cult following. He is also recognized for his satirical college application essay, which gained widespread attention after being published in Harper's magazine in 1990.
